They’re the words of Kennedy Daniels—post her recent ‘awakening’.

Readers first met Kennedy Daniels and Javier Zamora in the novelette, “Kennedy’s Awakening,” where they enjoyed a lust-filled week together in beautiful southern California. Love hadn’t yet entered their realm, but it did appear that they were headed to the next phase of what looked like it could be the start of something amazing.

But Kennedy isn’t used to a man like Javier, and since old habits die hard, in no time at all, Kennedy reverts to her pattern of self-sabotage.

Enter Tariq, the ex-boyfriend. A misunderstanding lands Kennedy right back in his presence; but while it’s strictly platonic for her, and something to fill a void, it’s much more for Tariq. And when Tariq realizes that it’s not he who awakens Kennedy’s desires, and that her heart and head are elsewhere, his true character begins to emerge.

As situations begin to escalate, and desires aren’t the only things to awaken, Kennedy soon finds herself in a struggle for her heart…and maybe even for her life.
